        Fresh from a Chamber Music Residency at the Banff Center in Banff, Canada, Trippel is a trio of friends from Junior High School and High School in Dallas/Fort Worth area.

 

            Violinist Stirling Trent has had concert appearances with Itzhak Perlman at Live from Lincoln Center, and was concertmaster for the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall.  He is a graduate of the Julliard School, and is working toward his Master’s degree in violin performance at the University of Southern California.

 

            Pianist Jonathan Tsay is the son of Jeff and Nora Tsay. He has been featured soloist with three orchestras, and was a national finalist in the Music Teachers National Association Young Artists Piano competition.  Jonathan is completing his doctorate in piano performance at the University of Montreal. 

 

            Cellist Nicholas Juul studied at Meadowmount School of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, and Amherst College, and will enter Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons this fall.

 

            The program includes:

 

            Ludwig van Beethoven – Piano Trio in D major, op. 70 no. 1 “Ghost”

 

            Dimitri Shostakovich – Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, op. 67

 

                        Intermission

 

            Maurice Ravel – Piano Trio
