達拉斯台灣同鄉會理事會於12 月29日在 Crown Plaza Dallas (near the Galleria) 為同鄉的第二代子弟舉行一個歡樂假期 party. Party 有晚餐,有音樂,有抽獎摸綵,還有照像等等,使大家有個快樂美麗的回憶！

TAA-DFW Annual Health Seminar - 12/8/07 (News Release, Pictures, Report)

Two topics were presented on Saturday, 12/08/07, at the Haggerd Library in Plano. Refreshements were served.

1. “New Year, New You” – Presented by Dr. C. Anne Wang-Gomez, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. on “ Preventative medicine for women's health and how to take better care of yourself during the holidays and into the new year”. Dr. Wang-Gomez is a second generation Taiwanese American and currently practices in Richardson.
2. “Tai Chi for Health” -- Presented by Dr. S.Y. Chuang, an accomplished Tai Chi Practitioner. Find out how you can utilize this mind-body practice to improve one or more aspects of your health and to stay healthy.

Dr. Jerome F. Keating & Prof. Donald Rodgers were the speakers at the mid-summer seminar presented jointly by TAA-DFW and NATEA-Dallas.

Chthonic in Dallas - 8/1/07-8/2/07 (Press Release, Flyer, Pictures, News Release, Pictures from JJ's Public Gallery)
TAA-DFW organized a welcome to Dallas dinner party on 8/1/07 at Tokyo One for the Chthonic band, who is touring US and Europe, giving 64 performances in 72 days. The dinner party was attended by over 70 people, including TECRO and TAA representatives from Houston. Dinner attendees also raised over $700 as a gift to the talented group. The following day, the heavy metals band performed at the Smirnoff Music Center in the Dallas Fair Park.

250+ Taiwanese Americans gathered in Dallas for the annual TAA South Summer Conference to listen to guest speakers from Taiwan and other parts of US to address the topic of, 台灣認同與國家正常化 Attendees represented TAA members from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Austin, Houston, Clear Lake, Oklahoma and Dallas. The 3-day event was highlighted with Taiwan Night performances and singing "Taiwan", while holding hands forming a circle of friends.

端午節烤肉郊遊活動 - TAA Picnic - 6/2/07 (Announcement, Pictures, Report)

韶光易逝, 春眠未醒, 初夏却已芳臨, 期待己久的肉粽節也將隨步而至. 想像:雨後蓊鬱的樹林, 綿綿如茵的草坪, 真想:下去蹦跳個不停. 同鄉們,又是我們到郊外舒展一下筋骨,讓我們同在一起, 快樂地慶祝佳節的時侯了.
回憶上次同鄉會烤肉的活動, 已經是很久很久以前的事了, 今年我們將回到家庭式的烤肉方式, 聞聞烤味萬里香, 品嚐肉粽家鄉情, 找回我們的樂趣, 重享我們相聚的温馨. 請大家要忙裡偷閒, 珍惜美好的相聚福緣, 展翅歡迎與等待您們全家福都能光臨.

達福傳統文化週活動 - Taiwan Exhibit at Mayfest 2007 - 5/3/07-5/6/07 (Pictures A, Pictures B, Report)
「達福台美人傳統文化基金會」(「DFW Taiwanese American Heritage Foundation」) (以下簡稱文基會) 為參與慶祝台灣傳統文化週活動，在召集人盧永華女士的帶領之下於2007年5月3日至5月6日，第四度參與福沃市 (Fort Worth) 舉辦的Mayfest，在兒童區(Children’s Area) 設立攤位。

“台灣民主風氣” 座談會 - 4/5/07-4/7/07 (Press Release, Symposium Agenda, Banquet Pictures, Report)

Austin College at Sherman, TX , 於4 月5 – 7日 (星期四 – 星期六) 舉辦 “台灣民主風氣” 座談會, 主講者: 彭明敏教授. 座談會節目中也包括三個公開討論會Panel Discussions 和一個圓桌討論會 Roundtable Discussion，討論題目將涵蓋: (1) 台灣民主風氣的沿革, (2) 泛藍政治和自尊、自我身份, (3) “正常”國家? 台灣與國際的關係, 以及其它很多熱門的研討項目。4月7日, 星期六下午2:00-4:00，來自 University of Wisconsin 的台灣學生木偶戲團更有精彩的表演以饗與會人士。 4月6日, 星期五晚上7:00PM大會晚宴 – 包括彭明敏教授主講。
Asia Week 2007: “The Democratic Culture of Taiwan”.

The Austin College in Sherman, Texas celebrated its annual Asian Week with a symposium focusing on Taiwan. The symposium proudly presented Dr. Peng Ming-min as the keynote speaker.
